Disability Inclusion Animation
Cass Productions created this disability inclusion animation in collaboration with Celebrating Disability, exploring the important distinction between accessibility and genuine inclusion.
Working closely with founder Emily Yates and her team, we developed an animated film that could communicate the subject clearly, creatively and sensitively, drawing on lived experience throughout the creative process.
The finished animation was designed as a practical resource that Celebrating Disability could use across workplace training, presentations, social media and advocacy.

Turning an important idea into a visual story
The animation is built around a simple visual contrast: one scenario where accessibility measures are present but genuine inclusion is missing, and another where accessibility and inclusion work together to create a more equitable and welcoming environment.
This gave us a clear visual framework for communicating a nuanced subject without relying on lengthy explanation.
Designing with lived experience
We developed a set of original characters representing a range of disability experiences, including both visible and non-visible disabilities.
Celebrating Disability’s team was closely involved throughout the process, with their lived experience and specialist knowledge informing decisions around the script, characters, tone, pacing and visual treatment.
That collaboration was particularly important in ensuring the animation communicated its message respectfully without reducing disability to stereotypes or visual shorthand.
From script to finished animation
Our in-house animation team developed the project from concept through to final delivery, including:

- storyboarding
- original character design
- voiceover production
- 2D animation and motion graphics
- sound design and editing
Regular feedback from Celebrating Disability was incorporated throughout the process, ensuring the creative treatment remained aligned with both the organisation’s expertise and the purpose of the film.
Designed for use beyond the initial film
The finished animation has been used by Celebrating Disability across workplace inclusion training, corporate presentations, social media and advocacy activity.
Creating the film as a flexible educational resource gave the organisation content that could support conversations about accessibility and inclusion across different audiences and settings.
Animation for sensitive and complex subjects
We regularly use animation to communicate subjects that are difficult to explain through live action alone, from healthcare and education to research, accessibility and social impact.
Our approach combines clear visual storytelling with close collaboration, helping organisations communicate complex ideas accurately, sensitively and accessibly.
