Inspiris - Graham's Story
Medical Device Video Production – Edwards Lifesciences & VCCP
At Cass Productions, we specialise in medical device video production that connects technical innovation with human stories. In partnership with VCCP, we were proud to work with Edwards Lifesciences, a global leader in the science of heart valves and hemodynamic monitoring.
Driven by a mission to improve patient outcomes, Edwards Lifesciences collaborates with clinicians worldwide to develop life-changing innovations in structural heart disease and critical care. Our task was to help bring one of those innovations to life on screen, by producing a video that would resonate with both patients and medical professionals.
Project Overview – Telling a Patient-Centered Story
This featured film focuses on Inspiris Resilia, an aortic valve designed to treat aortic stenosis, a serious heart condition that affects blood flow from the heart to the rest of the body. The video follows the journey of Graham, a patient who recently received the valve, and showcases the real-world impact of this medical technology.
The video includes:
First-hand insights from Graham and his family
Commentary from cardiac surgeons and clinical experts
Lifestyle footage illustrating the before-and-after impact
High-quality visuals of the treatment process and recovery
By blending patient narrative with medical insight, we were able to craft a film that is as informative as it is emotionally engaging.
Production Approach – Professional and Cinematic
The project was filmed at two locations using a four-person crew, including a producer/interviewer, camera operator, sound/lighting technician, and a CAA-licensed drone pilot.
We used Sony’s Cinema Line cameras, including the FX9, FX6, and FX3, paired with cinema-grade lenses to achieve a rich, cinematic look. This allowed us to create content that matched the high-quality standards expected by a global medical technology brand.
Additional production details:
Professional audio captured with broadcast-grade equipment
Lighting kits to create a consistent, clean look across interviews
Aerial footage for scene-setting and storytelling impact
Multi-camera setups for dynamic interviews and action shots
All post-production, including editing, colour grading, motion graphics, and final delivery, was handled by our in-house team.
Why Medical Device Video Production Matters
In a field where trust, accuracy, and emotion matter equally, medical device video production serves a unique role. It bridges the gap between innovation and understanding, helping clinicians educate patients and supporting manufacturers in showcasing their impact.
Video helps:
Demystify complex procedures for patients and families
Build trust in medical devices and treatment options
Support clinician training and awareness
Elevate brand credibility for manufacturers and suppliers
Create lasting content that can be shared at conferences, online, and in clinics
This project demonstrated how effective a well-told story can be in illustrating the life-changing potential of innovative heart valve technology.
Partnering With Global Healthcare Brands
We’re proud to have partnered with Edwards Lifesciences, whose work has impacted millions of lives globally. Their dedication to clinical innovation, paired with our strength in healthcare video production, made this collaboration a success.
If you represent a healthcare organisation, hospital, or medtech brand and want to showcase your innovation through high-quality video, we’d love to help.
Long-Term Outcomes and Patient Empowerment
One of the key advantages of the Inspiris Resilia aortic valve is its focus on long-term outcomes. For many patients, especially those diagnosed earlier in life, valve durability and reduced reintervention rates are critical. The Inspiris Resilia valve is designed with a next-generation tissue technology that resists calcification and promotes longevity, helping patients maintain a higher quality of life over time.
This not only reduces the likelihood of future procedures but also allows patients like Graham to return to work, stay active, and spend more time doing the things they love. By showcasing these real-world impacts through video storytelling, we helped Edwards Lifesciences communicate both the clinical and emotional value of this innovation.
