As trusted partners of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) since their inception, we were recently tasked with creating an animated explainer to help employees understand the importance of brand consistency and the decision-making process behind new logo designs. The primary objective was to provide clear and accessible insights into how these elements contribute to building a cohesive and recognisable brand identity. UKRI wanted employees to appreciate the significance of consistent branding, especially as it plays a crucial role in strengthening the organisation’s image across all platforms.

To ensure the animation was both engaging and informative, we drew inspiration from sleek, modern design aesthetics typically found in global brands like Apple and Google. The animation featured bold, minimalist visuals combined with straightforward, easy-to-understand messaging. This approach allowed us to effectively communicate the importance of maintaining a unified brand presence in a visually appealing way. By focusing on simplicity, we ensured the message could be easily followed by all employees, regardless of their existing familiarity with branding concepts.

The animation focused on explaining the key principles behind logo creation. It demonstrated how each design decision, no matter how small, plays an important role in strengthening the overall brand image. This helped make the process accessible and comprehensible for everyone at UKRI. 

The final animation was well received by colleagues across the organisation, who appreciated its clear, concise approach to a complex topic. It not only reinforced the value of a strong, unified brand identity but also contributed to a greater sense of connection to UKRI’s vision and mission. Ultimately, it served as both a practical tool and an engaging way to promote brand alignment within UKRI.
